Coastal Care Communities
Passionate about coastal environment and conservation? Join one of our Coastal Community groups. The City of Rockingham partners with Perth NRM’s Coastal & Marine Program to deliver planting events, beach clean ups, community capacity building training, workshops and supporting existing groups to increase impact along Rockingham’s coastline.

Coastal care groups
Supported by the City of Rockingham and Perth NRM, Singleton Coastcare is an active community group, organising beach clean-ups and hosting planting events.
As a family-friendly group, Singleton Coastcare welcomes new volunteers.
Kennedy Bay Coastcare takes part in community planting days organised by Perth NRM in collaboration with City of Rockingham.
The Golden Bay Progress Association Inc. is a voluntary organisation that aims to promote and support community wellbeing in Golden Bay, organising community planting events and partnering with local community gardens.

Friends of Point Peron is a local, community volunteer, not-for-profit group primarily working to restore the ecology at Cape Peron. Volunteers can get involved through community planting days and other initiatives that endeavour to maintain and conserve the area. Friends of Point Peron meets somewhere in Cape Peron (look for their sign on the road verge) most Sundays throughout the year to plant, weed, water, collect seeds and tend to seedlings, and to assist the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions in managing the park.
Secret Harbour Coastal Crew is a volunteer-based environmental conservation organisation, connecting the community through organised planting days and coast clean-up events.
Rockingham Beach Cleans is a community group that aims to hold a beach clean every first Sunday of the month. More information on the group and upcoming pop-up events, can be found on its Facebook page.

Golden Bay Community Garden
The Golden Bay Community Garden is a vibrant new community garden and is open to new members.
Cost of membership: $10 per gardener ($5 for seniors). For an additional $25, all members can also purchase a t-shirt.
Included in membership: water, soil, exchange seeds, some seedlings and most equipment required to garden successfully.
Membership expires at the end of March each year.

Naragebup, also known as the Rockingham Environmental Centre, is a non-profit community organisation run by volunteers. Built by the community for the community as an education and resource centre, Naragebup has a community garden on site. The Environment Centre, also known as Naragebup, is an education and resource facility available to enable a greater understanding of environmental issues and sustainable lifestyle choices.
We partner with Naragebup which runs environmental events all year long. 
Naragebup is situated next to Lake Richmond and delivers education on Lake Richmond for individuals and groups of any age.
