Rockingham Strategic Centre

The Rockingham City Centre is one of 10 designated Strategic Centres in the State Government’s Metropolitan Plan, and the primary centre for the South-West region of the metropolitan area.

Development in the Rockingham Strategic Centre offers multiple opportunities and opens new avenues for business growth and expansion. Designed around Transit Oriented Development principles, the Rockingham City Centre Transit route provides easy access from the Rockingham Train Station to the Rockingham Beach Foreshore via the City Centre precinct. This area is zoned for a range of development opportunities including, but not limited to, mixed use high density residential, commercial, and community and entertainment related uses.

Rockingham Industry Zone

The Rockingham Industry Zone (RIZ) is prime industrial land at the centre of the Western Trade Coast, and has been designed to play a key role in the economic growth of Perth’s south-west corridor. Covering 1,150 hectares, the estate includes precincts developed for commercial, light industrial, port related and general/ heavy industrial businesses.

The Rockingham Industry Zone is ideal for warehousing, logistics, maritime, automotive, chemical, gas, petroleum, fabrication, defence and heavy engineering industries.

Major projects underway or recently announced in the RIZ include:

  • East Rockingham Waste to Energy facility (under construction)
  • Woodside's proposed H2Perth hydrogen and ammonia production and export hub
  • EcoGraf's proposed graphite processing facility

Rockingham is Industry Ready

Strategically located within the Western Trade Coast, the Rockingham Industry Zone (RIZ) forms part of Western Australia’s premier industrial region. Opportunities for industrial development within the RIZ align with three of six priority sectors contained in the State Government’s Diversify WA Plan, including energy, technology and advanced manufacturing, as well as the mining and mining equipment sector.

Released in June 2020, the Clipper Precinct is located off Mandurah Road in Rockingham. Development of this new precinct is already underway, with 7 lots under offer and titles expected to be issued soon.

With general industry zoning, the remaining lots will appeal to a range of businesses including warehousing, manufacturing, transport and logistics, petroleum, defence and maritime-related industries.

This well established precinct is already home to major retailers (including Bunnings), and sees almost 25,000 cars passing each day*.

With service commercial zoning, fully serviced lots that are remaining here will appeal to a range of businesses including retail showrooms, offices, consulting rooms, medical and service industries.

Port Kennedy Business Enterprise Park

Located next to the existing Port Kennedy Business Park, this proposed development will span over 49 ha, and will feature an additional 18 ha in wetland reserve and conservation space.

Expected to commence in 2022/2023, this staged development will create over 110 parcels, with lots ranging in size between 1,000 m2 and 9,000m2 (larger lot sizes to suit individual business needs and size requirements can also be discussed). 

Zoned 'Port Kennedy Business Enterprise' (similar to service commercial with some light industry uses permissible), it will appeal to a range of businesses including showrooms, consulting rooms, offices, health studios, medical and veterinary services, warehousing, trades and service industries.
