Rockingham Aquatic Centre is Rockingham's favourite summer family aquatic playground. It has a heated 50m pool, 25m pool and shaded toddlers' pool, set among landscaped gardens and shady grassed areas. The facility is open from late September to mid-April each year for public use and offers a range of activities, including aquarobics, lap swimming, swimming lessons, squad training and water polo.

The grounds are an ideal location for a family outing and group or corporate functions, with plenty of shade, a children's playground, kiosk seating area and free barbecues. Birthday parties can also be catered for.

The Rockingham Aquatic Centre is located at 61 Council Avenue (opposite Careeba Oval), Rockingham.

Ever considered swimming around Warnbro Sound? What about the mighty Avon Descent? Why not try swimming it in your local pool? The City of Rockingham and the Rockingham Aquatic Centre are setting you the challenge to 'Swim Around the Sound and Beyond'. It's easy! Simply:

  • complete and hand in a registration form
  • swim and count your number of laps
  • place your name and number of laps on our form.

Swim Around the Sound and Beyond is a great way to start and stay being active during the warm summer months.

The program is very simple. Participants register at the Rockingham Aquatic Centre and choose their 'virtual' challenge, such as swimming around Penguin Island (4km), from Mersey Point to Bird Point (10km), to Rottnest Island (20km), around Garden Island (30km), the Bass Strait (97km) or the more challenging swim of the Avon Descent (133km). At the Rockingham Aquatic Centre participants endeavour to swim an accumulative total of laps to equal their chosen distance.

One of the most positive aspects of the program is that participants choose their own pace and times to achieve their distance with no additional fees from the normal pool entry. There are also some fabulous giveaways and prizes to be won and it is easy for participants to register and check their progress. For further information contact the Aquatic Centre on 9591 0830.

Have some weekend family fun during the warmer months of the season. Weather/wind permitting, the monster-sized inflatable will be operational. Cool down in the pools, or enjoy a picnic in the shady grassed areas. Food and drinks are available for purchase from the kiosk, or prepare your own food at one of the barbecues.

Fun Day Sundays

Fun Day Sundays for this season are every Sunday from 16 November 2025 to 8 March 2026 from 12pm-4pm. Entry all day is $4.70 per person with free entry for children five and under (with paying adult 16 or over).

Super Saturdays

Super Saturdays for this season are every Saturday from 20 December 2025 to 31 January 2026 from 12pm-3pm. Normal entry fees apply.

From Tuesday 6 to Thursday 29 January 2026, when the temperature is over 28 degrees, come down and enjoy the grassed areas, barbecues and giant games. The monster-sized inflatable will be up from 12pm-3pm, weather and wind permitting.

The Rockingham Aquatic Centre is a popular venue for birthday parties. Check out the dates for Sunday Fun Days and Super Saturdays to see when the inflatable will be up. You can also bring in food and drinks (no alcohol) plus use one of the available barbecues. We don’t take bookings for spaces or barbecues as they are on a first-in basis. We also have a variety of giant games that are available for use - see the reception team. If paying for others, please drop off a list of names to reception and the team can tick them off as they come in and you can pay at the end.
