Key annual events

World-Elder-Abuse-Awareness-Day.jpg

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is commemorated each year on 15 June to highlight the issue of elder abuse.

Elder abuse is any act which causes harm to an older person and is carried out by someone they know and trust, such as a family member or friend.

Throughout June there are a range of events focussed on understanding and preventing elder abuse.

Homelessness-Week.jpg

Homelessness Week

In Australia there are almost 123,000 people experiencing homelessness on any given night. Homelessness Week aims to raise awareness of the impact of homelessness and highlight the support available.

Each year an event is held in partnership with local homelessness support services to help individuals connect to resources and support.

World-Suicide-Prevention-Day-1.jpg

World Suicide Prevention Day

World Suicide Prevention Day is about raising awareness of suicide in our community and identifying where and how we can work together collaboratively towards a world without suicide.

Every year we commemorate this event on 10 September to draw attention to this vital topic and connect people to support.

Mental-Health-Week-event.jpg

Mental Health Week

Each year in October we partner with some fantastic local service providers during Mental Health Week to create a month of free workshops, events and training which aims to increase community awareness of mental health and wellbeing.

Antipoverty-event.jpg

Anti-Poverty Week

Each year in October we host events for Anti-Poverty Week in partnership with community organisations.

These events provide the community with creative skills to save money, link in with support services such as financial counsellors and budgeting services, as well as learn how to save money.

Events-16-Days.jpg

16 Days in WA

16 Days in WA runs from 25 November to 10 December each year.  This initiative draws inspiration from the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, an international campaign to end violence against women and girls across the world.

16 Days in WA aims to raise awareness, increase positive actions and highlight organisations, agencies and individuals working to end violence against women.
