Register to host a Neighbours Unite activity

ladies with coffeeYou can register a neighbourhood activity to be eligible for up to $150 reimbursement for activity costs and receive a free Host Pack. (Refer to guidelines below for eligibility and more information).

Host your activity anywhere that is safe: at home, your verge or local park and take time to meet your neighbours.

Ideas are only limited by your imagination but could include a:

  • barbecue
  • bake off
  • high tea
  • after-school activity
  • dog walking group
  • games night, and many more.

Head to our newsletter subscription page and sign up to receive the Neighbours Unite update.

The Neighbours Unite Update provides regular updates including community safety tips, access to the latest crime statistics and information on how to form connections with your neighbours.

Once you are subscribed to the newsletter, you can apply to host a Neighbours Unite Activity.

  • Invite them for coffee
  • Walk your dogs together
  • Be aware of what is going on in the neighbourhood. Report suspicious behaviour, people or vehicles to police on 131 444
  • Give your neighbours a contact number.

  • Collect their mail
  • Take their bins in and out
  • Keep an eye out for activity around their home
  • Water the garden.

You will be kept up to date with what's happening in your community and how you can get involved.

Households are eligible to receive one Neighbours Unite Activity reimbursement each calendar year. 

We encourage neighbours to continue to host activities and stay connected throughout the year.

Neighbours also include people across the road and those in your immediate street block and wider neighbourhood.
